Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information nestique.io ("Nestique", "we", "us") collects, why, and the choices you have. Nestique is operated by Jon Dykstra from Canada. If you have questions, email jgdmediagroup@gmail.com.

The short version

  • The tools run in your browser. Measurements and choices you enter into a tool are not sent to us.
  • We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which tools are used.
  • If you sign up for email, we keep your email address to send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • We plan to show display ads in the future. This policy will be updated before ads go live.

Information you enter into the tools

Room sizes, furniture sizes, colors and other inputs are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers. If you choose "Save as image", the image is created on your device and saved to your device. Your unit preference (feet and inches or centimeters) is stored in your browser's local storage so the tools remember it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, approximate location (city or region, derived from your IP address), device and browser type, the site that referred you, and events such as starting a tool, finishing a tool, saving an image or signing up for email. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses.

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish visitors. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off by default.

You can opt out of Google Analytics on all sites with Google's opt-out browser add-on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google's use of the data is described in its partner sites policy.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use:

  • Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, described above.
  • Local storage to remember your unit preference.

We do not currently use advertising cookies.

Email sign-ups

If you give us your email address, we use it only to send the updates you signed up for. We will store it with an email service provider acting on our behalf, and we will name that provider here before sign-ups open. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. We do not sell your email address. We will keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Advertising (future)

We intend to show display ads to support the site. When we do, an advertising partner and its vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads and measure them. That may include ads based on your interests, where the law allows it. Before ads go live we will update this policy to name the partner, describe the data it collects and explain how to opt out. Where required, we will also ask for your consent first.

Pinterest and links to other sites

The "Save to Pinterest" button is a plain link. It does not load any Pinterest code until you click it. Once you leave our site, the other site's privacy policy applies.

Legal basis and your rights

We are based in Canada and handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you
  • correct it or delete it
  • object to or restrict how we use it
  • withdraw consent
  • complain to your local data protection authority

This includes rights under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation and US state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. To use any of these rights, email jgdmediagroup@gmail.com.

We do not sell personal information. When ads launch, any "sharing" for targeted advertising, as California law defines it, will be disclosed here along with a way to opt out.

Where data is processed

Our service providers, including Google and our hosting provider Vercel, may process information in the United States and other countries. Their privacy protections may differ from those where you live.

Children

Nestique is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Significant changes, such as adding ads, will be noted on this page.
